We found the pools to be perfect size for one person in each pool. Deep enough to soak up to the neck. A 3 hour return side trip from the north huranui springs (without packs). No sandflys (unlike the Huranui springs!!!) [warren, kaiapoi, NZ]

Much better this time around. Some great people have placed boulders to raise the level of it. I think 2 people could be accommodated in the upper pool by the looks of it.
On the day, it was barely worth it but out of principle, I jumped in. One has to factor in sandflies and ambient weather conditions i.e. not so hot that it’s pointless and not so cold that one ends up being quite cold once one exits the pool. I considered the wx conditions on the day to be the best.…
