This series of pools is on the True Left of the Wanganui River about 200m downstream of Smyth hut. The GPS\'d position of the lower larger pool is NZTM2000 E1425057 N5213782 (for the Topo 50 maps) There is a marked walking route which is the same as for DOC\'s Smyth hut. Allow one big day to walk in one way. Some people break the journey by staying at Hunters hut about half way in to the pools. [Trevor Kaniere, Kehutahi, Westland]

- Very good series of pools. The larger lower one is big enough for a group of people & is a nice temperature. Further upstream there are more pools with one about 20m above the bigger pool where the track comes out being quite hot. (Around 40 degrees Celcius)

- Fantastic after a hard trip in the hills. Good temperature, deep enough, hardly any sludge, only 5mins from hut. Tough walk between road and hot pools though.
