Directions

A mid way stop between Auckland and Wellington. Just south of Turangi on SH1 turn into State Highway 41. Sign post reads Taumarunui/National Park. Rainbow Motel is 4km along on the right. [Rainbow Motel Tokaanu, New Zealand]

  1. We stayed at Refresh Cottage in Turangi only 5 mins away from the hot pools. The cottage was ideal and the pools were nice and soothing after a day up the mountains in the snow. We will definately return.

  2. Braxmere Fishing Lodge / Lakeland Retreat loved this place.. tucked away down Waihi rd on shores of the Lake.. Hot pool included also Restaurant and Bar. Returning again this Winter 2010.

  3. The thermal pools at Oasis Motel are a real treat, with three options including private spas with bubbles! The hottest of the three is guaranteed to soften you up after a hard day skiing Whakapapa. We stayed two winters in a row! Charlie

  4. Rainbow Motel near Turangi http://www.rainbowmotel.co.nz/Room1.htm includes as many free soaks as you want in one of three private mineral hot pools as part of their regular room rate. We stay there every year!
