Waikato: 10 Hot Pools in the Waikato Region
Interactive Map Showing Hotpools in The Waikato Region
Stanley Road, Te Aroha
Te Aroha is a pretty rural town on the foot of Mount Te Aroha (950m) that makes a great base for exploring the Waikato area, Coromandel and Tauranga, all within an hour's drive! The Holiday Park was established from a 100 year old homestead with stately oak trees providing plenty of shade. Accommodation options include powered camp sites, comfy wooden cabins and fully serviced en -suite family cottages sleeping up to six people. All cabins and...
Front Miranda Road, Waitakaruru
This is a pool with small bays and a lot of seating around the edges of the pool. Its easy to get into/out as it is gently sloping and is consistantly warm - about 38 degrees I believe. Its sheltered from the wind due to its high sides and the pool is covered with shade sails. Overall, a very modern pool which is absolutely magic especially on at night when there is steam all...
After a dip in the ocean, enjoy the unusual, a warm bath. Bring your shovel to dig with. Although it is difficult to dig a pool more than about 20 cm deep, the water is pleasantly hot. Temperature varies upon location. A sulphur smell is present, but not overpowering. At the car park, sits an old changing room. A toilet is available, but tap water is not. See directions.
Waingaro Road, Waingaro
Pools are expensive $12 per person. Slide is only open sometimes and bumper boats well they look they have closed. They are not clean and very out dated. Staff are unfriendly would recommend thinking twice about this outing.
Te Aroha Hot Springs Domain, Boundary Street, Te Aroha
Private hot tubs in clean and tastefully decorated surroundings. Silky hot soda water with adjustable temperature and optional bubbles. Reasonably priced for the quality of the spa complex. Highly recommended! Recently rebranded to distinguish between the exquisite (and now very expensive) mineral spa pools and spa treatments, and the chlorinated water in the outdoor public pools (which do not contain mineral water)
18 Sommerville Road, Okoroire, Waikato 3485
Great bush walk to the private pools which are surrounded by ferns. Listen to the birds and river while soaking in the spacious pools which are just right temperature wise. Good restaurant, homely historic hotel and enjoy a beer on the deck with the locals at the bar. Golf course across the road, what more do you need? Excellent getaway weekend location.
Okauia Springs Road, Matamata
This is our favourite pool and camping ground we have discovered in our fine country! After reading all the reviews below, I can only assume that some people would prefer a big generic public pool with no character (and lots of lifeguards). The reason we loved this pool was for its retro quirkiness, the freedom to relax without lots of people, and of course the most amazing private pool ever. We have uploaded some...
Front Miranda Road, Waitakaruru
I found the waters of Miranda to be revitalising as they flowed across my body. I felt something I have never felt before. I call it an 'awakening'. I call it pure joy.
