Description

Despite playing host to dozens of glamorous galas, gorgeous weddings and glorious corporate functions every year, we have never lost sight of the fact that swimming was what drew people to The Blue Baths back in 1933 when daring mixed bathing (a New Zealand first) adding to the excitement of socialising with family and friends at “the Blueys.” The warm waters of The Blue Baths pools are geothermally heated fresh (not mineral) water. The original Juvenile Pool is usually around 30°C whilst our two hot soak pools vary between 37°C and 42°C. The pools open at 10am during summer and midday during winter. As closing times vary due to seasonal factors or private function use, bathers are encouraged to call ahead to check closing times. [Megan Davies, Rotorua]

It is just an old pool to go swimming in. Has potential to be amazing just needs a good tidy up. Spanish style built, two warm pools on side and big lap pool in the middle. Was very quiet which was great. Had whole place to ourselves.

I like to take my 4yo son swimming here on Sunday. There are usually few people there, but I'm not unhappy about that, it's nice and peaceful. Exc value for money if you get a 10 visit concession card.

spent an evening at their dinner and show a few weeks ago - was probably the most enjoyable evening we've spent in many, many years. the entire evening from start to finish was impeccably planned and executed, I'd highly recommend it to anyone looking for an evenings entertainment in Rotorua! expensive but well worth it.

Simply incredible, went there on a warm Saturday afternoon and had the whole place to ourselves. A lot of history around there and a beautiful place to while away a few hours.

Brings out the history in all of us. As well as it being a pool, it is also a museum and a very old one at that. More than 16 years old and still standing
