From Taipo river start, good track all way to Julia hut. Some river crossing but safe enough with caution. In hut log book is good directions from DOC. Walk out front door of hut to track directly in front, follow track to gorge river right till you smell tell-tale signs of sulphur and some steam. Will need to excavate a bit to make a pool. There is a bucket and crow bar on bank above the pool. Use cold water to regulate temp as is very hot. Is good with right excavating. [Will Stephens, Greymouth NZ]
