Description

Located in Lake Tekapo in the South Island, Tekapo Springs is a 3-hour drive from Christchurch or Queenstown. Tekapo Springs has three hot pools plus two cooler pools with lake and mountain views. Temperatures range from 27 to 39 degrees Celsius. The water isn’t geothermal but comes from a pure underground source near Tekapo.

Tekapo Springs also has a day spa, ice skating rink & snow tube (winter),  sauna/steam room with cold plunge pool and a fully licensed café & bar. Tekapo Springs operates 364 days a year from 10am – 9pm.

By night, soak in the stars with Tekapo Star Gazing, the only guided star gazing and hot pools tour in New Zealand. Operating from Tekapo Springs, tours run 363 nights per year with start times varying by season to ensure the darkest skies.

This place is in a great location, but there's no view of the lake from the pools! The place gets far too crowded over the school holidays, with screaming kids dive-bombing and generally being annoying. The adult pool is too hot. Changing rooms are small and grubby and are always falling to bits (hairdryers dead, doors that won't lock, broken taps etc). Worse of all, the snow slide had an HOUR AND A HALF wait! Unbelievable.

These pools are artificialy heated and not natural thermal sulphur pools

AMAZING place.. so nice to relax in a luxurious setting.. so cool ice skating, then sitting in the hot pools over looking Lake Tekapo and snowy mountains! AND these guys have a great dayspa, i had a "tribal facial" and a massage making this one of the most relaxing days ive ever had!
