We went to Tokaanu Thermal Pools to soothe our aching legs the day after completing the Tongariro Crossing. After relaxing in the lovely warm outdoor pool, there is also a short walk (accessible from the carpark) around some small mud pools and thermal springs. Well worth stopping if you’re passing and great value for money.
